The peripheral nervous system is a complex ecological network, and its injury triggers a series of fine-grained intercellular regulations that play a crucial role in the repair process. The peripheral nervous system is a sophisticated ecological network, and its injury initiates a cascade of intricate intercellular regulatory processes that are instrumental in the repair process. Despite the advent of sophisticated microsurgical techniques, the repair of peripheral nerve injuries frequently proves inadequate, resulting in adverse effects on patients' quality of life.

Trends in Research of Odontogenic Keratocyst and Ameloblastoma.

J Dent Res

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Oral & Maxillofacial Reconstruction and Regeneration, Key Laboratory of Oral Biomedicine Ministry of Education, Hubei Key Laboratory of Stomatology, School & Hospital of Stomatology, Wuhan University, Wuhan, China.

Odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) and ameloblastoma (AM) are common jaw lesions with high bone-destructive potential and recurrence rates. Recent advancements in technology led to significant progress in understanding these conditions. Single-cell and spatial omics have improved insights into the tumor microenvironment and cellular heterogeneity in OKC and AM.

Chewing-Activated TRPV4/PIEZO1--Zn Axes in a Rat Periodontal Complex.

J Dent Res

January 2025

Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences, School of Dentistry, University of California, San Francisco, CA, USA.

The upstream mechanobiological pathways that regulate the downstream mineralization rates in periodontal tissues are limitedly understood. Herein, we spatially colocalized and correlated compression and tension strain profiles with the expressions of mechanosensory ion channels (MS-ion) TRPV4 and PIEZO1, biometal zinc, mitochondrial function marker (), cell senescence indicator (), and oxygen status marker hypoxia-inducible factor-1α () in rats fed hard and soft foods. The observed zinc and related cellular homeostasis in vivo were ascertained by TRPV4 and PIEZO1 agonists and antagonists on human periodontal ligament fibroblasts ex vivo.

Background: Immune cells within tumor tissues play important roles in remodeling the tumor microenvironment, thus affecting tumor progression and the therapeutic response. The current study was designed to identify key markers of plasma cells and explore their role in high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC).

Methods: We utilized single-cell sequencing data from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database to identify key immune cell types within HGSOC tissues and to extract related markers via the Seurat package.

NEAT1 regulates BMSCs aging through disruption of FGF2 nuclear transport.

Stem Cell Res Ther

January 2025

College & Hospital of Stomatology, Key Laboratory of Oral Diseases Research of Anhui Province, Anhui Medical University, Hefei, 230032, China.

Background: The aging of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) impairs bone tissue regeneration, contributing to skeletal disorders. LncRNA NEAT1 is considered as a proliferative inhibitory role during cellular senescence, but the relevant mechanisms remain insufficient. This study aims to elucidate how NEAT1 regulates mitotic proteins during BMSCs aging.
