Accurate survival prediction of patients with long-bone metastases is challenging, but important for optimizing treatment. The Skeletal Oncology Research Group (SORG) machine learning algorithm (MLA) has been previously developed and internally validated to predict 90-day and 1-year survival. External validation showed promise in the United States and Taiwan.

Background: There is no consensus regarding the optimal regimen for metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (dmNPC). Locoregional intensity modulated radiotherapy (LRRT) following palliative chemotherapy (PCT) has been shown to prolong the overall survival (OS) and improve the progression-free survival (PFS) of patients with dmNPC, compared with PCT alone. However, patients with a high tumor burden do not benefit from additional LRRT, which inevitably results in toxicity.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most prevalent causes of cancer-related morbidity and mortality worldwide. Late-stage detection and the complex molecular mechanisms driving tumor progression contribute significantly to its poor prognosis. Dysregulated R-loops, three-stranded nucleic acid structures associated with genome instability, play a key role in the malignant characteristics of various tumors.

Chondromyxoid fibroma (CMF) in the foot is a rare condition. We report a case of CMF in a 7-year-old girl, affecting the distal phalanx of the great toe. Radiographs revealed a lytic lesion involving the entire distal phalanx, with destruction of both the medial and lateral cortices, while the articular surfaces remained intact.

Cellular senescence is understood to be a biological process that is defined as irreversible growth arrest and was originally recognized as a tumor-suppressive mechanism that prevents further propagation of damaged cells. More recently, cellular senescence has been shown to have a dual role in prevention and tumor promotion. Senescent cells carry a senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP), which is altered by secretory factors including pro-inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, and other proteases, leading to the alteration of the tissue microenvironment.
