Ajowan () is an important spice in the food industry, as a well as a medicinal plant with remarkable antioxidant properties. In this study, its essential oil content, chemical composition, flavonoid content, phenolic content, and antioxidant capacity were evaluated under three irrigation regimes (50, 70, and 90% field capacity) and different amounts of nano silicon (0, 1.5, and 3 mM) in ten populations of ajowan.

Accurate photosynthetic parameters obtained from photosynthetic light-response curves (LRCs) are crucial for enhancing our comprehension of plant photosynthesis. However, the task of fitting LRCs is still demanding due to diverse variations in LRCs under different environmental conditions, as previous models were evaluated based on a limited number of leaf traits and a small number of LRCs. This study aimed to compare the performance of nine LRC models in fitting a set of 108 LRCs measured from paddy rice ( L.

This study investigated the distribution of salinity and sodicity in the irrigated areas of Abaya Chamo. Representative water and soil samples were collected from different soil depths (0-30 cm and 30-60 cm). Sodium absorption ratio (SAR), electrical conductivity (Ec), pH, exchange sodium, magnesium, calcium, and potassium cations, and exchange sodium percentage (ESP) of the sampled sites were analyzed for soil salinity classification and severity analysis.

In South Asia, declining water tables due to increased irrigation and labor shortages for manual weeding pose significant challenges for wheat production. Additionally, herbicide resistance, often resulting from poor management practices, further complicates weed problems. The objective of this study was to assess the impacts of traditional irrigation regimens (IRs) and herbicide application on wheat crops.
