The number of people suffering from Substance Use Disorder (SUD) worldwide has increased 45 % compared to the last decade according to the latest United Nations World Drug Report. This staggering increase, partly due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, further raises the social and economic burden for nations. Prevention and treatment, two of the main strategies employed to curb the increase in SUD, have shown limited success despite our increasing understanding of the underlying processes of SUD.

Background: Vitiligo, a prevalent depigmenting condition, affects both adults and children, significantly impacting their quality of life. The standard treatment approach involves the application of topical corticosteroids in conjunction with narrow-band ultraviolet B (UVB) phototherapy. A novel topical treatment, ruxolitinib (a Janus kinase inhibitor), has recently received approval.

In this research, nineteen (19) samples were collected and analyzed with the following objectives: to evaluate the activity concentration of radionuclides, assess gamma absorption, determine indoor radon concentration, and evaluate the public health impact of building materials used in Katsina State, Nigeria. The study aimed to provide critical data that would inform safe construction practices and regulatory compliance. Samples were sourced locally from various quarry sites, while materials such as cement, paint, tiles, and ceiling materials were purchased from local markets.

Introduction: Long-term treatment of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is required to prevent progression. However, persistence with current treatments is challenging due to tolerability and acceptability issues. The objective of this study was to estimate 1-year persistence with secukinumab in patients with PsA treated with secukinumab, to compare persistence rates between secukinumab and adalimumab, to estimate usefulness rates, and to document adverse events.

Background And Objective: Invasive meningococcal disease (IMD) is an uncommon but serious disease associated with a risk of death and severe long-term sequelae, impacting both patients and their caregivers. Productivity losses due to IMD have not previously been comprehensively evaluated in the USA. This study evaluated both market and non-market productivity losses to better estimate the economic burden of IMD in the USA.
