Electric-Dipole Coupling Ion-Dipole Engineering Induced Rational Solvation-Desolvation Behavior for Constructing Stable Solid-State Lithium Metal Batteries.

Solid-state polymer electrolytes (SPEs) with high ionic conductivity, a wide voltage window, and an ultra-stability electrolyte/electrode interface are essential for practical applications of solid lithium-metal batteries but particularly challenging. The key to overcoming these long-term obstacles lies in the rational design of the Li+ solvation-desolvation behavior in SPEs. Herein, we propose an electric-dipole coupling ion-dipole strategy to modulate the Li+ solvation structure and enhance Li+ desolvation kinetics.

Introduction: Delay in detecting acute deterioration in older adults in care homes is associated with avoidable hospitalizations and adverse outcomes, including premature death.

Objective: Underpinned by the Knowledge to Action Framework, this study aimed to understand the barriers and enablers to direct care staff detecting and responding to the early signs of acute deterioration in care home residents.

Study Design: Online focus groups or interviews with regulated (registered and enrolled nurses) and unregulated (assistants in nursing and personal care workers) direct care staff from participating care homes were conducted.

Expandable konjac fiber modulates appetite and chyme digestion in vivo by stomach-intestine-brain axis.

Appetite regulation is a lifestyle intervention strategy to maintain health. The regulatory effects of dietary fiber (especially insoluble dietary fiber), as a crucial element of the nutritional composition, on appetite remain poorly understood. This study investigated modulatory effects of konjac fiber (KF, with high and low expansion) and konjac powder (KP) on chyme digestion, gastrointestinal hormones, intestinal microbiota, appetite genes in hypothalamus, GLP-1 receptor (GLP-1R) protein in various tissues of rats by dietary intervention.

In the present study, we introduce the concept of "transdermal sequential delivery" as a non-invasive and synergistic approach for the treatment of melanoma. We developed a functionalized Deep Eutectic System (DES) that incorporates both small molecule drugs and nanoparticles. The glycolysis inhibitor 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) served as the Hydrogen Bond Donor (HBD) to form the DES, while glutathione (GSH)-responsive Mesoporous Organosilicon Nanoparticles (MON) were prepared and encapsulated with chlorin e6 (Ce6).
