To observe the differences in biochemical indexes and AIDS-related complications at baseline in HIV-infected patients with different levels of immune reconstitution to antiretroviral therapy (ART). The subjects were treat-naïve adult HIV-infected patients who were followed up for more than 24 months in the Guangzhou Eighth People's Hospital affiliated infection clinic at Guangzhou Medical University from January 2010 to December 2017. CD4 T lymphocyte count at baseline at <200, 200-350, and >350 cells/µl levels were divided into poor, partial, and good immune reconstitution groups.

Diffuse esophageal hyperkeratosis (DEH) is a very intriguing and impressive mucosal finding that is quite easily identified on endoscopy and histology. A distinction must be made between microscopic/focal hyperkeratosis and endoscopically visible DEH. Microscopic hyperkeratosis is not uncommon in histological studies, while diffuse hyperkeratosis is seen very rarely.

Dyskeratosis congenita (DC) is a rare telomerase disorder affecting high turnover cells. Malfunction of protective proteins in DC results in patient genomes with shortened germline telomeres leading to genetic instability, cellular apoptosis, and overall cellular lifespan degradation. Classically, reports of DC described a triad of dysplastic nails, reticular skin pigmentation, and oral leukoplakia.
