Topographical descriptions of three major plasma membrane glycoproteins of murine 3T3 cells were obtained by immunoelectron microscopy with monoclonal antibodies. A glycoprotein of Mr 80,000 was distributed throughout the total cell surface. A second of Mr 90,000 was concentrated in coated pits, and a third of Mr 100,000 was localized at cell junctions.

Four-color single-molecule imaging system for tracking GPCR dynamics with fluorescent HiBiT peptide.

Biophys Physicobiol

September 2024

Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tohoku University, Sendai, Miyagi 980-8578, Japan.

Single-molecule imaging provides information on diffusion dynamics, oligomerization, and protein-protein interactions in living cells. To simultaneously monitor different types of proteins at the single-molecule level, orthogonal fluorescent labeling methods with different photostable dyes are required. G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), a major class of drug targets, are prototypical membrane receptors that have been studied using single-molecule imaging techniques.

Cardiac fibroblasts are activated following myocardial infarction (MI) and cardiac fibrosis is a major driver of the growing burden of heart failure. A non-invasive targeting method for activated cardiac fibroblasts would be advantageous because of their importance for imaging and therapy. Targeting was achieved by linking a 7-amino acid peptide (EP9) to a perfluorocarbon-containing nanoemulsion (PFC-NE) for visualization by F-combined with H-MRI.

Corrosion and degradation of magnesium (Mg) alloy result in serious damage and limit its application in new-energy automobile industry. Considerable protective coating is proposed, yet it is hindered by the difficulties in avoiding and visually monitoring coating micro-damage and localized metal corrosion. Herein, a novel anticorrosion coating system with autonomously monitoring multiple levels of damages in coated Mg-alloy system, is proposed.

Electric Field-Enhanced SERS Detection Using MoS-Coated Patterned Si Substrate with Micro-Pyramid Pits.

Nanomaterials (Basel)

November 2024

Department of Semiconductor Engineering, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, No. 300, Sec. 1, Wanshou Rd., Guishan District, Taoyuan City 333326, Taiwan.

This study utilized semiconductor processing techniques to fabricate patterned silicon (Si) substrates with arrays of inverted pyramid-shaped micro-pits by etching. Molybdenum trioxide (MoO) was then deposited on these patterned Si substrates using a thermal evaporation system, followed by two-stage sulfurization in a high-temperature furnace to grow MoS thin films consisting of only a few atomic layers. During the dropwise titration of Rhodamine 6G (R6G) solution, a longitudinal electric field was applied using a Keithley 2400 (Cleveland, OH, USA) source meter.

Electronic address:

Pseudorabies virus (PRV), the causative agent of Aujeszky's disease in swine, is a significant pathogen in veterinary medicine. Rab35 is a key regulatory GTPase involved in diverse cellular functions, including endocytic recycling, cytokinesis, and the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton. Although Rab35's roles in these processes are well-documented, its contribution to PRV replication dynamics had not been previously elucidated.
