Cued recollection involves the retrieval of different features of the encoded event. Previous research has shown that the recollection of complex events jointly recruits the Default Mode and the Frontoparietal Control networks, but the degree to which activity within these networks varies as a function of the particular memory dimension (e.g.

Objective: The aim of the present study is to examine the relationship between EEG measures and functional recovery in right-hemisphere stroke patients.

Methods: Participants with stroke (PS) and neurologically unimpaired controls (UC) were enrolled. At enrolment, all participants were assessed for motor and cognitive functioning with specific scales (motricity index, trunk control test, Level of Cognitive Functioning, and Functional Independence Measure (FIM).

Post-stroke aphasia is a network disorder characterized by language impairments and aberrant network activation. While patients with post-stroke aphasia recover over time, the dynamics of the underlying changes in the brain remain elusive. Neuroimaging work demonstrated that language recovery is a heterogeneous process, characterized by varying activation levels in several regions of the left-hemispheric language network and the domain-general bilateral multiple-demand network.

GABA (γ-aminobutyric acid) is the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. In response to injury within the central nervous system, GABA promotes cortical plasticity and represents a potential pharmacological target to improve functional recovery. However, it is unclear how GABA changes in the brain after traumatic brachial plexus injuries (tBPIs) which represents the rationale for this pilot study.

The subthalamic nucleus is thought to play a crucial role in controlling impulsive actions. Networked among the basal ganglia and receiving input from several cortical areas, the subthalamic nucleus is well positioned to influence action selection when faced with competing and conflicting action outcomes. The purpose of this study was to test the dissociable roles of the dorsal and ventral aspects of the subthalamic nucleus during action conflict in patients with Parkinson's disease undergoing intraoperative neurophysiological recording and to explore a potential mechanism for this inhibitory control.
