Background: Central retinal vein occlusion and cilioretinal artery occlusion are rare but serious ocular conditions that can lead to significant visual impairment. While few cases of central retinal vein occlusion and cilioretinal artery occlusion have been individually reported, concurrent occlusion of both vessels is extremely rare, particularly in younger patients without traditional vascular risk factors. We present the first reported case of simultaneous central retinal vein occlusion and cilioretinal artery occlusion in a young female patient associated with short-term use of progestin-only oral contraceptives (OCPs).

Normal follicular development is the basis for ovulation in poultry. Our previous sequencing analysis revealed a high expression of miR-24-3p in chicken follicles from degenerated ovaries, suggesting that miR-24-3p may modulate follicular development. Hence, this study investigated the specific mechanisms of miR-24-3p in regulating chicken follicular development.

This study aims to investigate the effect of a supraphysiological dose of testosterone on the levels of sex steroid hormones and the expression and distribution of sex steroid receptors in the uterus during the endometrial receptivity development period. In this study, adult female Sprague-Dawley rats ( = 24) were subcutaneously administered 1 mg/kg/day of testosterone alone or in combination with the inhibitors (finasteride or anastrozole or both) from day 1 to day 3 post-coitus, while a group of six untreated rats served as a control group. The rats were sacrificed on the evening of post-coital day 4 of to measure sex steroid hormone levels by ELISA.
