In this communication neurovegetative investigation of circulatory system in essential orthostatic hypotony (EOH) is continued. Our previous polycardiographic and heart rate variability (HRV) studies showed, that hemodynamic alterations in EOH are concerned with impairment of both branches of autonomic system. But hemodynamic-autonomic interactions in EOH are till now not well recognized.

In a group 26 patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy the values of certain polycardiographic and haemodynamic indices and their changes in the prolongation of the time of isovolumetric relaxation (IVRT) was noted in 23 patients (88%), with increased value of the percent of the a wave participation of the apexcardiogram (%a) in 24 patients (92%). In the obstructive type the corrected time of left ventricular ejection was significantly prolonged (p < 0.01) in relation to the non-obstructive type.

Sixty patients with Stages IIB-III chronic heart failure were examined. The main group included 30 patients on complex therapy involving isolated ultrafiltration (IUF), the other 30 patients who refused to have IUF comprised the control group. The patients from the main group had improvement in the phasic pattern of a cardiac cycle, which was associated with enhanced myocardial contractility and performance due to decreased preload.

The analysis of clinical and polycardiographic findings for 568 healthy males and females provided the basis for development of the criteria for standard exercise tolerance and normal range of cardiac cycle phases in relation to 5 ten-year age groups. With age, physical and mental performance was found to be on the decrease, circulatory adaptation and contractile cardiac reserve deteriorated.
