Two new dioxidovanadium(V) compounds with the general formula [VO(L)] (L = hydrazone ligand) were synthesized using three different methods (acidic, neutral, and basic media) with either VOSO. 5HO, [VO(acac)], or NHVO as the starting material and hydrazone ligands. In both cases, five coordinated V ions adopted distorted square pyramidal geometry through the coordination of two oxido ligands and one hydrazone ligand.

The emergence of resistance against current antimalarial treatments has necessitated the need for the development of novel antimalarial chemotypes. Toward this goal, we recently optimised the antimalarial activity of the dihydroquinazolinone scaffold and showed it targeted PfATP4. Here, we deconstruct the lactam moiety of the tricyclic dihydroquinazolinone scaffold and investigate the structure-activity relationship of the truncated scaffold.

Biofluids such as blood plasma are rich reservoirs of potential biomarkers for disease diagnosis, prognosis, and prediction of treatment response. However, mass spectrometry analysis of circulating plasma proteins remains challenging. The introduction of data-independent acquisition mass spectrometry (DIA-MS) is an important step toward addressing detection of less abundant plasma proteins.

Most of the human cancers are dependent on telomerase to extend the telomeres. But ∼10% of all cancers use a telomerase-independent, homologous recombination mediated pathway called alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT). Due to the poor prognosis, ALT status is not being considered yet in the diagnosis of cancer.

Background: In the digital age, search engines and social media platforms are primary sources for health information, yet their commercial interests-focused algorithms often prioritize irrelevant content. Web-based health applications by reputable sources offer a solution to circumvent these biased algorithms. Despite this advantage, there remains a significant gap in research on the effective integration of content-ranking algorithms within these specialized health applications to ensure the delivery of personalized and relevant health information.
