The immunogenicity of trypsinized and radiation-sterilized bovine fascia enriched with pulverized calf cartilage was tested by the regional lymph node blastic cell reaction. The influence of these grafts on the adjacent tissue and on regeneration processes was examined histologically. After transplantation into mice the grafts stimulated growth of new connective tissue and did not evoke an increase of the blastic cell reaction in the regional lymph nodes.

Objective: Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) is a dental surgical procedure that uses barrier membranes to prevent soft tissue invasion and conduct new bone growth. This study aimed to define a Prognosis Recovery score (PR score) to objectively classify post-surgery responders from non-responder patients who underwent GBR using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT).

Methods: This prospective-observational-longitudinal-cohort study recruited 250 individuals who were assigned to: Conventional-Apical-Surgery (CAS, n = 39), Apical-Surgery using human fascia lata Membrane placement (ASM, n = 42), and Apical-Surgery using human fascia lata Membrane placement and lyophilized allograft Bone powder (ASMB, n = 39); and Apical-Surgery using collagen membrane Porcine origin and Bovine Bone-matrix (ASPBB, n = 130), an independent external validation cohort.

This study aimed to validate the concept of spatial gain sonography for quantifying texture-related echo intensity in B-mode ultrasound of skeletal muscle. Fifty-one bovine muscles were scanned postmortem using B-mode ultrasonography at varying fascicle probe angles (FPA). The relationship between mean gray values (MGV) and FPA was fitted with a sinusoidal and a linear function, the slope of which was defined as tilt echo gain (TEG).

Objective: To evaluate simulated parastomal herniation forces in in vitro abdominal fascial models. Our group previously illustrated how incision type may play a consequential role in bowel herniation force generated across an incision using several abdominal fascia models. We sought to (1) Confirm findings in fresh human tissue, (2) Assess correlation between herniation force and incision size, and (3) Determine whether incision type impacts drainage in a simulated ex vivo ileal conduit.

To investigate the oncologic and surgical safety of the fused fascia method for immediate breast reconstruction with implants. The clinical data of 343 patients with immediate breast reconstruction with implants in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital from 2014-2017 were retrospectively analyzed to compare the 5-year local recurrence-free survival, 5-year disease-free survival and 5-year overall survival of patients with breast reconstruction by fusion fascia and other methods, and to analyze the complication incidences of implant removal between different implant groups. Of the 343 patients with breast reconstruction, 95 were in the fused fascia group (fascia group) and 248 were in the non-fascia group (25 in the bovine pericardial patch group and 223 in the muscle flap group).
