Introduction: Despite the generally mild course of COVID-19 in children, immunocompromised patients may experience complications or severe infection. This study reports the clinical outcomes of pediatric patients treated with nirmatrelvir and ritonavir (N/R) for SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Methods: We retrospectively reported the data of children with any immunodeficiency with COVID-19 who received N/R treatment between March 2022 and June 2023 at the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital.

Invasive fungal infections are a leading cause of death worldwide. Translating molecular insights into clinical benefits is challenging because fungal pathogens and their hosts share similar eukaryotic physiology. Consequently, current antifungal treatments have limited efficacy, may be poorly fungicidal in the host, can exhibit toxicity, and are increasingly compromised by emerging resistance.

Purpose: Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a common complication after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Anecdotal data suggest that clinicians can be confused about the indications, advantages, and disadvantages of treatment options for canine atopic dermatitis (CAD). This may be due to the varying levels of knowledge and confidence among clinicians at different stages of their training and careers. A lack of evidence-based studies of confidence when applying knowledge in veterinary education inspired this research.

Significance: Topical cyclosporine A (CsA) for the treatment of dry eye disease is often associated with instillation discomfort, which may negatively influence patient adherence to therapy. This study found that refrigerating topical CsA reduced instillation discomfort compared with instillation of warm CsA. Thus, refrigerating CsA prior to instillation may improve patient experience when using CsA to manage dry eye disease.
