Today, the usual target point evaluation during stereotactic operations using planar X-ray films can be supplemented by digital video storage. The picture-delivering system is a digital X-ray video chain which replaces the X-ray film. Evaluation of target point coordinates as well as parameters of electrode approach and positioning are determined by a microcomputer. Such an inexpensive system is described.

Background: Stigma toward transgender children and adolescents negatively impacts their health and educational outcomes. Contact with members of stigmatized groups can dismantle stereotypes and reduce stigma by facilitating exposure to the unique cognitive and emotional perspectives of individuals within the group. Recent evidence suggests that video-based contact interventions can be as effective as face-to-face encounters, but challenges lie in protecting the identities of transgender youth, since many of them live in stealth.

Background: Inhalational anesthetic agents are a major source of potent greenhouse gases in the medical sector, and reducing their emissions is a readily addressable goal. Nitrous oxide (NO) has a long environmental half-life relative to carbon dioxide combined with a low clinical potency, leading to relatively large amounts of NO being stored in cryogenic tanks and H cylinders for use, increasing the chance of pollution through leaks. Building on previous findings, Stanford Health Care's (SHC's) NO emissions were analyzed at 2 campuses and targeted for waste reduction as a precursor to system-wide reductions.

Objective: Emotion measurement is central to capturing acute alcohol reinforcement and so to informing models of alcohol use disorder etiology. Yet our understanding of how alcohol impacts emotion as assessed across diverse response modalities remains incomplete. The present study leverages a social alcohol-administration paradigm to assess drinking-related emotions, aiming to elucidate impacts of intoxication on self-reported versus behaviorally expressed emotion.

Maternal prenatal depressive symptoms (PD symptoms) pose a risk factor for child adjustment difficulties (CAD), defined as internalizing and externalizing symptoms. This study examined the underlying mechanisms of the link between PD symptoms and CAD in a longitudinal study. Longitudinal data from pregnancy to age 3, encompassing four assessment points, were analyzed for = 582 mothers participating in the German family panel .

Liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) is commonly used for identification of compounds in complex samples due to the high chromatographic and mass spectral resolution provided. In subsequent data processing workflows, it is imperative to preserve this resolution to fully exploit the data. "Region of interest" (ROI) algorithms were introduced as a better alternative to equidistant binning for compressing HRMS data because they better preserve the mass spectral resolution.
