This research was carried out to assess the concentrations of carbon monoxide (CO) and formaldehyde (HCHO) in Edo State, Southern Nigeria, using remote sensing data. A secondary data collection method was used for the assessment, and the levels of CO and HCHO were extracted annually from Google Earth Engine using information from Sentinel-5-P satellite data (COPERNISCUS/S5P/NRTI/L3_) and processed using ArcMap, Google Earth Engine, and Microsoft Excel to determine the levels of CO and HCHO in the study area from 2018 to 2023. The geometry of the study location is highlighted, saved and run, and a raster imagery file of the study area is generated after the task has been completed with a 'projection and extent' in the Geographic Tagged Image File Format (.

Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) show great promise for enhancing food safety and extending shelf life, but traditional screening methods are complex and costly. To address these issues, we developed a deep learning-based prediction pipeline to identify potential AMPs from soil metagenomic data, achieving high accuracy (92.71 %) and precision (91.

The current study focuses on finding an ecological method to dispose of black liquors (BLs), containing lignin macromolecules, which are produced as byproducts of rice straw-based paper production. In addition to maximizing their value as precursors in the preparation of novel formaldehyde scavengers to avoid the environmental risks associated with using urea formaldehyde in agro-wood composites. To optimize the route, various black liquors are prepared from pulping of rice straw by different pulping agents (alkali, neutral, acidic and kraft reagents) used as additions or precursors for carbon compounds.

Detergents and disinfectants for dairy industry must meet a variety of characteristics, including low toxicity, high antibacterial activity, and excellent rinsing of pollutants from working surfaces. This work presents an innovative detergent-disinfectant agent based on whey mineralizate and silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs), which allows reducing production costs and ensuring high cleanliness of treated surfaces compared to analogues. For this purpose, a method for obtaining sols of Ag NPs stabilized with didecyldimethylammonium bromide (Ag NPs-DDAB) was developed and optimized using neural network algorithms.

Article Synopsis
  • Research shows a significant rise in chlorine and chloramine gas exposures in the U.S. during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, with total cases increasing by 61% from 2015 to 2022, especially from 2019 to 2020.* -
  • Out of 85,104 reported exposures, the majority (84.9%) occurred at home, with many being mild and requiring minimal treatment, while a small percentage led to hospital admissions (1%) or deaths (0.03%).* -
  • The shift towards increased cleaning and disinfecting practices during the pandemic likely contributed to this ongoing issue, as many individuals continued these habits even as routines returned to normal.*
