Cochlear implants are well established devices for treating severe hearing loss. However, due to the trauma caused by the insertion of the electrode and the subsequent formation of connective tissue, their clinical effectiveness varies. The aim of the current study was to achieve a long-term reduction in connective tissue growth and impedance by combining surface patterns on the electrode array with a poly-L-lactide coating containing 20% diclofenac.

Materials and methods The antimicrobial activity of the medicaments was assessed by determining the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) via the agar well diffusion method. A total of 40 extracted permanent teeth underwent root canal treatment, and was introduced into the canal preparations.

The current project was designed to develop piperine-loaded solid lipid microparticles (SLMs) to assess the anti-arthritic potential of piperine (PIP). Variable proportions of carnauba wax, beeswax, and tween 80 were employed for preparing SLMs by using the solvent evaporation technique. The developed formulations were subjected to particle size measurements, entrapment efficiency (EE), and zeta potential (ZP) determination.

The conventional hydrothermal synthesis and inherent hysteresis behavior limited the application of MOFs owing to the low kinetic efficiency in dynamic molecular adsorption. Herein, we developed an in-situ nucleation strategy for the preparation of MIL-100-Fe and immobilized it with hierarchy porous scaffold of TEMPO oxidized cellulose nanofiber (TCNF) sponge in the absence of additional organic solvent during fabrication under ambient conditions. The newly recognized mechanisms of gradient molecular transfer were proposed to illustrate the comprehensive DCF adsorption process from solution to micropores of MIL-100-Fe at molecule level triggered by the stray capacitance, varied Laplace pressure, size exclusion and cellulosic labyrinth.

Graves' disease (GD) is an autoimmune disorder with a high incidence rate, particularly affecting women of reproductive age. Current treatment modalities for GD carry significant disadvantages, especially for pregnant or nursing women. As a novel extracorporeal therapeutic technique, high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) shows great promise for treating GD; however, its low treatment efficacy impedes clinical application.
