Objectives: Home blood pressure monitoring (HBPM) is valuable for the detection and monitoring of hypertension. Despite logistical advantages, HBPM has not yet been used in national blood pressure (BP) surveys. We investigated randomly selected adults' willingness to participate in an HBPM study (attitude survey) and piloted this approach (feasibility study).

Objective: We derive and validate D-RISK, an electronic health record (EHR)-driven risk score to optimize and facilitate screening for undiagnosed dysglycemia (prediabetes + diabetes) in clinical practice.
Research Design And Methods: We used retrospective EHR data (derivation sample) and a prospective diabetes screening study (validation sample) to develop D-RISK. Logistic regression with backward selection was used to predict dysglycemia (HbA1c ≥5.

The pathogenesis of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension may be multifactorial and requires further studies. We explored alterations in pulmonary artery endothelial cells under the hypoxic and elevated interleukin-17 conditions that are commonly present in patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. We measured the serum interleukin-17 levels in 10 chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension patients and 10 healthy control persons.

Aim: Left atrial (LA) strain is emerging as a valuable metric for evaluating cardiac function, particularly under pathological conditions such as pressure overload. This preclinical study investigates the predictive utility of LA strain on cardiac function in a murine model subjected to pressure overload, mimicking pathologies such as hypertension and aortic stenosis.
Methods: High-resolution ultrasound was performed in a cohort of mice (n = 16) to evaluate left atrial and left ventricular function at baseline and 2 and 4 weeks after transverse aortic constriction (TAC).

Limited research has investigated the impact of antihypertensive medications on type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and whether gut microbiome (GM) mediates this association. Thus, we conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to estimate the potential impact of various antihypertensive drug target genes on T2DM and its complications. Genetic instruments for the expression of antihypertensive drug target genes were identified with expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) in blood, which should be associated with systolic blood pressure (SBP).
