Background: Delayed radiation-induced complications after stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for arteriovenous malformations (AVM) have scarcely been described in the literature, and their incidence, pathophysiology, and treatment remain unclear. Additionally, the literature regarding these complications is confusing. The authors present a well-documented case report describing these late complications, adding evidence to the possible common pathophysiological mechanism underlying them, and illustrating an effective treatment modality when they occur.

Purpose: Continuous advancements in cancer management have resulted in increased long-term survival rates amongst cancer survivors and in turn have exposed the full extent of radiotherapy-associated morbidities. Radiation-induced coronary heart disease (RICHD) is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in cancer survivors, particularly in those having undergone mediastinal radiation. While mediastinal radiation has been shown to substantially reduce both recurrence and mortality rates in multiple thoracic malignancies, the risk for the development of RICHD is of significant concern.

Introduction: Radiation-induced lung toxicity (RILT) is a major concern in patients who receive radiation to thorax. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the changes of pulmonary function tests (PFTs) in lung carcinoma patients treated with three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3-D CRT) and relation RILT with dosimetric and nondosimetric factors.
Methods: This was a prospective observational study which included 65 patients of lung carcinoma treated with 3-D CRT.

Radiation therapy is a critical component in managing many malignancies by improving local control and survival. The benefits of radiation may come at the expense of unintended radiation injury to the surrounding normal tissues, with the heart being one of the most affected organs in thoracic radiation treatments. As cancer survivors live longer, radiation-induced cardiotoxicity (RICT) is now increasingly recognized.

Tinnitus is a common sensorineural complication that can occur de novo or after cancer treatments involving cisplatin or radiotherapy. Considering the heterogeneous etiology and pathophysiology of tinnitus, the extent to which shared genetic risk factors contribute to de novo tinnitus and cancer treatment-induced tinnitus is not clear. Here we report a GWAS for de novo tinnitus using the UK Biobank cohort with nine loci showing significantly associated variants (p < 5 × 10).
