Caused by diseases or in senescence gonadal atrophy entails morphological alterations in certain hypothalamic neurons particularly in the arcuate and subventricular nucleus. In consequence of an inefficacious and perpetual feedback these cells develop phenomenons of activation on their nucleoli.
