Rationale: Spinal cord ischemia injury is a serious complication after intra-aortic surgery, with a low incidence but high disability rate. However, patients often do not receive comprehensive treatment in the early stages of the disease. Therefore, active neurological intervention is needed to protect and prevent spinal cord ischemia during and after surgery.

Introduction: Growth plate damage in long bones often results in progressive skeletal growth imbalance and deformity, leading to significant physical problems. Gangliosides, key glycosphingolipids in cartilage, are notably abundant in articular cartilage and regulate chondrocyte homeostasis. This suggests their significant roles in regulating growth plate cartilage repair.

Postoperative systemic adjuvant therapy targets residual micrometastatic disease that could be the source of future recurrence and death from melanoma. Randomized phase III adjuvant trials reported significant improvements in overall survival with high-dose interferon α in 2 of 3 studies (compared with observation and GMK ganglioside vaccine) and with anti-cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 ipilimumab at 10 mg/kg compared with placebo and ipilimumab 3 mg/kg compared with high-dose interferon α.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) progresses with age and is associated with chronic inflammation. We focused on the relationship between BPH and ganglioside monosialodihexosylganglioside (GM3), a sialic acid-containing glycosphingolipid that is involved in chronic inflammation. GM3 molecular species would have a significant role in regulating inflammatory processes.
