Herbicidal Formulations with Plant-Based Compounds to Control , and Weeds.

Plants (Basel)

January 2025

Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET), Godoy Cruz 2290, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires 5000, Argentina.

Numerous studies have shown the potential effect of bioactive agents against weeds. In this study, we developed two binary formulations with nonanoic acid, citral, or thymoquinone as herbicides and evaluated their physicochemical properties. The presence of the bioactive compounds in the formulations was confirmed through FTIR spectroscopy.

Ustiloxin A impairs oocyte quality by disrupting organelles function.

Environ Pollut

January 2025

Jiangsu Key Laboratory for Food Quality and Safety-State Key Laboratory Cultivation Base, Ministry of Science and Technology/Key Laboratory for Agro-product Safety Risk Evaluation (Nanjing), Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs/Key Laboratory for Control Technology and Standard for Agro-product Safety and Quality, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs /Collaborative Innovation Center for Modern Grain Circulation and Safety/Institute of Food Safety and Nutrition, Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanjing, China; School of Food and Biological Engineering, Jiangsu University, Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, China. Electronic address:

Oocyte quality is pivotal for fertilization and early embryonic development. Ustiloxin A (UA), is an emerging mycotoxin that has been frequently detected in rice and paddy. Because UA has been reported to be phytotoxic and cytotoxic, it poses a potential hazard to human and animal health.

Using the TOPSIS method to select the best low-toxicity organic cosolvent for rice-based toxicity tests.

Ecotoxicol Environ Saf

January 2025

College of Environmental Science & Engineering, Guilin University of Technology, Guilin 541004, PR China. Electronic address:

The application of low-toxicity cosolvents in phytotoxicity tests is a common technique to enhance the distribution of non-water-soluble organic pollutants in the aqueous phase. In this study, the physiological and biochemical responses of rice seedlings to four commonly used organic solvents i.e.

In Vitro Rooting of Poplar: Effects and Metabolism of Dichlorprop Auxin Ester Prodrugs.

Plants (Basel)

January 2025

Laboratory for Applied In Vitro Plant Biotechnology, Ghent University, 9000 Ghent, Belgium.

Efficient adventitious root formation is essential in micropropagation. Auxin prodrugs, inactive precursors that convert into active auxins within the plant, offer potentially improved rooting control and reduced phytotoxicity. This study investigated the efficacy of dichlorprop ester (DCPE), commercialized as Corasil and Clemensgros (originally intended to increase grapefruit size), in promoting in vitro root initiation in the model plant × , compared to its hydrolyzed form DCP and the related compound C77.
