A study was made of the effect of secondary radiation of 70 GeV protons on DNA of Chinese hamster cells. With a reference to fibroblast DNA, lymphoid cell DNA, and the lethal effect of radiation on the survival of Chinese hamster cells the RBE was 1.6-7.6, 1.1-3.8 and 1.14-1.7, respectively. DNA breaks were repaired to an equal level after exposure to secondary radiation from the accelerator and gamma-radiation from 60Co in equally effective doses.

Background Management of retroperitoneal liposarcoma (RPLPS) is challenging and recurrence rates remain high despite aggressive surgical resections. Preoperative radiation alone lacks definitive benefit, thus we sought to evaluate combined chemoradiotherapy with the potential to enhance local efficacy of radiation as well as control micrometastatic disease. We assessed the safety and tolerability of preoperative eribulin, a cytotoxic microtubule inhibitor approved for the treatment of advanced liposarcoma, in combination with radiation in patients with RPLPS.

Objective: Our aim is to determine the comparative effectiveness of unimodality organ preservation surgery versus radiotherapy on oncological and functional outcomes in patients with early hypopharyngeal cancer.
Introduction: Early hypopharyngeal cancer is difficult to detect and therefore rarely diagnosed, as patients are often asymptomatic. Radiotherapy is considered the main treatment, although this modality has been compared to the previously used open surgical approach, which may not reflect current surgical options.

In this work, cerium dioxide nanostructures were synthesized in an easy sonochemical way. CeO nanoparticles have received much attention in nanotechnology. CeONPs, exhibit biomimetic properties depending on their size, ratio of valency on their surface, and the ambient physico-chemical properties.

Purpose: The value of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) in patients with oligometastatic head-and-neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) remains unclear, as existing evidence is primarily derived from retrospective single-center analyses with small patient cohorts. This study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of pulmonary SBRT in patients with oligometastatic HNSCC and to identify factors associated with survival.
Methods: This trinational multicenter cohort study, including 16 centers from XXX, XXX, and XXX, retrospectively analyzed patients with oligometastatic HNSCC undergoing SBRT for pulmonary metastases between 2010 and 2023.

Purpose: National Comprehensive Cancer Network Guidelines recommend initiating postoperative radiation therapy (PORT) within 6 weeks of surgery for patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), but delays affect 50% of patients, disproportionately burden minoritized groups, and contribute to worse oncologic outcomes. This trial evaluates the efficacy of Navigation for Disparities and Untimely Radiation thErapy (NDURE), an enhanced navigation-based intervention, relative to usual care (UC) patient navigation for starting timely PORT.
Methods: Adults with locally advanced HNSCC planning to undergo surgery and PORT were randomly assigned 1:1 to standard multidisciplinary head and neck oncology care and either NDURE, a multilevel navigation-based intervention to enhance key processes of care and overcome barriers to timely PORT, or UC, which consisted of standard patient navigation.
