The carotid artery and the jugular bulb can protrude into the middle ear, representing a chance finding during middle ear surgery. Since these vascular abnormalities do not require surgical treatment and incisions are dangerous, it will be necessary to differentiate between such conditions and Glomus tumours. Hence, preliminary diagnosis by angiography is a "must".
