Five patients with evaluable malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) of bone (three with primary tumor and two with primary tumor and metastatic disease) were treated with preoperative chemotherapy including high dose methotrexate (HDMTX) with citrovorum factor rescue (CFR) as is used for patients with osteogenic sarcoma. All five patients demonstrated a clinical response to chemotherapy. Three of four patients who underwent surgery had complete responses and one patient had greater than 90% tumor necrosis as documented by histologic examination of the resected primary tumor. All four patients who underwent surgery following preoperative chemotherapy are surviving free of disease from one to six years from the start of treatment; chemotherapy was discontinued after six to 11 months in these patients. The median disease-free survival time is 31.5 months. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of chemotherapy in MFH of bone, and in particular the effectiveness of HDMTX with CFR which caused measurable responses in all patients while receiving this therapy as a single agent.

Objectives: The primary objective of this review is to provide updated mechanisms that regulate ferroptosis sensitivity in cancer cells and recent advancements in drug targeting for ferroptosis as an antitumor therapy.
Methods: To achieve these objectives, a comprehensive literature review was conducted, analyzing recent studies on ferroptosis, including its cellular, molecular, and gene-level characteristics. The review involved an evaluation of advancements in ferroptosis drug research across various medical domains, with particular attention to novel therapeutic approaches in nano-medicine, TCM, and Western medicine.

We aim to compare the clinical outcomes of radical nephroureterectomy with bladder cuff removal (RNU) and segmental resection with ureteral reimplantation (RR) in Chinese patients with distal ureteral urothelial carcinoma. A retrospective analysis of medical records was performed for 922 patients found to have distal ureteral cancer, defined as below the level of the iliac vessels, with 747 patients who underwent RNU and 175 who underwent RR included in the final analysis. The primary endpoints included clinical outcomes and changes in the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).

Parathyroid carcinoma (PC) is one of the rarest malignant neoplasms of the human endocrine system, with a prevalence of approximately 0.005% of all oncological diseases. Despite its indolent course, PC generally relapses in about 40%-60% of cases.

Objective: To assess time trends in the inclusion of health-related quality of life (QoL) among study endpoints and in the reporting of QoL results in study publications, randomised phase III oncology trials published between 2017 and 2021 were compared with the trials published in the previous 5 years.
Methods And Analysis: All issues published between 2012 and 2021 by 11 major journals were handsearched for primary publications of phase III trials in adult patients with solid tumours. Trials published in 2017-2021 were compared with trials published in 2012-2016 for three endpoints: (1) proportion of publications including QoL among endpoints out of all the eligible publications; (2) proportion of publications presenting QoL results out of those including QoL among endpoints and (3) proportion of publications presenting QoL data out of all the eligible publications.

Objective: Salivary gland cancers (SGC) are rare cancers with currently no standard treatment for recurrent/metastatic disease. Based on checkpoint inhibitors benefit in a broad range of tumours, NIvolumab in Salivary gland CArcinoma of the Head and Neck (NISCAHN) evaluated nivolumab efficacy in SGC.
Methods And Analysis: In this phase II single-stage Fleming design, patients with SGC with a progressive disease progression within 6 months prior to entering the study, were divided into ACC (adenoid cytic carcinoma) and non-ACC.
