As the result of our research work, 3 reference preparations have been first obtained and studied in accordance with all requirements of biological standardization. These preparations are the national standard of yellow fever antiserum and immune ascitic fluids (IAF) used as reference reagents: IAF to tick-borne encephalitis virus and IAF to Japanese encephalitis virus. The new preparations are stable, possess sufficient specific activity and can be used as standard preparations for the identification of the above-mentioned viruses.

Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) is the leading cause of viral encephalitis in the Asia-Pacific region. Amplification of JEV in pigs is a potent driver for spillover of the infection to humans, and hence monitoring of virus dynamics in pigs can provide insights into JEV ecology. After surgery involving cranial nerves and more generally the central nervous system, nonbacterial meningitis should raise suspicion of herpes simplex virus type 1 reactivation. Mosquito-borne flaviviruses represent a public health challenge due to the high-rate endemic infections, severe clinical outcomes, and the potential risk of emerging global outbreaks. Flavivirus disease pathogenesis converges on cellular factors from vectors and hosts, and their interactions are still unclear. Exosomes and microparticles are extracellular vesicles released from cells that mediate the intercellular communication necessary for maintaining homeostasis; however, they have been shown to be involved in disease establishment and progression.
