Elastosis, the significant increase of elastic tissue, was identified by histochemical methods in 45 (53.5%) cases of an unselected series of breast cancers. They were all invasive ductal carcinomas with or without tubular differentiation. The highest proportion of tumors with elastosis was found in the "scirrhous" type of carcinomas. Elastosis was preponderantly of the focal variety, periductal and perivenous. The affected ducts were of large calibre, containing a normal, benign hyperplastic or carcinomatous epithelium. There were not observed correlations with the grade of malignancy and the extent of axillary lymph node metastases.

Background: Lentigo maligna (LM) and lentigo maligna melanoma (LMM) are the most prevalent subtypes of melanoma, primarily affecting sun-exposed areas of the face in individuals aged 65 to 80 years. LM accounts for approximately 80 % of in situ melanomas and carries a risk of progression to LMM, which constitutes 4 % to 15 % of global cutaneous melanoma cases. This report discusses the clinical challenges and management strategies for recurrent LM, with an emphasis on accurate diagnosis and surgical intervention.

Human skin is a physical and biochemical barrier that protects the internal body from the external environment. Throughout a person's life, the skin undergoes both intrinsic and extrinsic aging, leading to microscopic and macroscopic changes in its morphology. In addition, the repair processes slow with aging, making the older population more susceptible to skin diseases.

Objective: To evaluate the relation between solar elastosis and tumor mutation burden (TMB) in a large clinically annotated cohort of stage II and III melanoma patients.
Methods: Primary cutaneous melanomas from 469 AJCC (8 edition) stage II and III patients with clinical annotation including outcome at 5 years of diagnosis were histopathologically evaluated for solar elastosis. Next-generation sequencing assay MSK-IMPACT was employed to determine TMB.

There is an interaction between dendrocytes and mast cells in the skin. However, in elastosis-related diseases such as actinic cheilitis (AC) and lower lip squamous cell carcinoma (LLSCC), this interaction remains unknown. We investigated the presence of intact and degranulated mast cells in AC and LLSCC.
