Background: The unrelenting emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants has significantly challenged the efficacy of existing COVID-19 vaccines. Enhancing the stability and immunogenicity of the spike protein is critical for improving vaccine performance and addressing variant-driven immune evasion.
Methods: We developed an mRNA-based vaccine, RV-1730, encoding the Delta variant spike protein with the S6P mutation to enhance stability and immunogenicity.

Brucellosis is listed by the World Health Organization as one of the seven most neglected global zoonotic diseases. A live-attenuated vaccine is still the main strategy used to prevent the spread of brucellosis. In this study, we constructed a two-gene (purE and purK)-deletion vaccine in Brucella melitensis vaccine strain M5 with homologous recombination.

Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) caused by hantavirus is prevalent across China and causes a significant number of deaths every year. This study aims to examine the transmission dynamics of hantavirus and to suggest effective control measures. We extend a periodic model of HFRS infection including house/field mice, contaminated environments, and the human population by introducing nonlinear pulses used to describe impulsive interventions.

Alteration of the gut microbiota and its metabolites plays a key role in the development of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Here, we investigated the mechanism of saponins, a byproduct from quinoa (SQ) processing, in regulating IBD. SQ ameliorated gut microbiota dysbiosis revealed by 16S rRNA sequencing and improved colonic antioxidant activities and barrier integrity in dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-treated mice.

Breast cancer (BC) patient-derived xenografts (PDX) are relevant models for precision medicine. However, there are no collections derived from South American BC patients. Since ethnicity significantly impacts clinical outcomes, it is necessary to develop PDX models from different lineages.
