Biological method of glucagon determination in the blood plasma was worked out. The method consists in incubation of the rat liver membranes with glucagon which stimulates adenylcyclase, whose activity was determined by the accretion of cAMP content in the incubation medium. Membranes with increased sensitivity of glucagon were obtained; hormone concentrations in the plasma of healthy persons and of patients suffering from diabetes were determined. In healthy persons glucagon content varied from 54 to 175 pg/ml.

Plasma phosphorylated tau biomarkers open unprecedented opportunities for identifying carriers of Alzheimer's disease pathophysiology in early disease stages using minimally invasive techniques. Plasma p-tau biomarkers are believed to reflect tau phosphorylation and secretion. However, it remains unclear to what extent the magnitude of plasma p-tau abnormalities reflects neuronal network disturbance in the form of cognitive impairment.

Background: Obesity is a predisposing factor for serious comorbidities, particularly those related to elevated cardiovascular mortality. The atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) has been shown to be a useful indicator of patients with insulin resistance.
Aims: The aim of this study was to assess cardiovascular risk before and after surgical treatment of obesity.

Background: Data in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) xenografts defined the seleno-L-methionine (SLM) dose and the plasma selenium concentrations associated with the enhancement of HIF1α/2α degradation, stabilization of tumor vasculature, enhanced drug delivery, and efficacy of axitinib. The data provided the rationale for the development of this phase I clinical trial of SLM and axitinib in advanced or metastatic relapsed ccRCC.
Patients And Methods: Patients were ≥18 years with histologically and radiologically confirmed advanced or metastatic ccRCC who had received at least one prior systemic therapy, which could include axitinib (last dose ≥6 months prior to enrollment).

The plasma-activated water (PAW) containing numerous reactive species can facilitate chitin degradation. Given the intricate interplay between PAW treatment and the diverse activities of chitinolytic enzymes, further investigation is imperative for enhancing the chitin bioconversion efficiency. This study revealed that PAW-treated chitin exhibited improved degradability toward LPMO10A, endochitinases ChtI, ChtII-B4C1, and exochitinase Chi-h.
