Mice, previously selected for the production of low affinity antibody after four injections of protein antigens in saline, fell into two groups on the basis of their antibody response after injection of adjuvantized antigen. One group produced antibody of sequentially rising affinity but the other produced only low affinity antibody. Mice from the latter group were interbred to produce low affinity non-maturing mice (low N/M mice). Daily injections in these mice produced a more rapid and severe glomerulonephritis than that observed in mice of the original low affinity line. Male low N/M mice were more severely affected than female low N/M mice. Susceptibility to the disease were associated not only with an inability to produce the maturational transition from low affinity to high affinity antibody with time but also with the production of low levels of antibody. It is suggested that these quantitative and qualitative defects in the antibody response may lead to increased susceptibility to immune complex disease.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Cholestatic liver injury (CLI) is a pathophysiological syndrome characterized by the accumulation of bile acids (BAs), which leads to significant hepatic dysfunction. This condition is frequently associated with disturbances in BAs homeostasis and the induction of oxidative stress. Ribes diacanthum Pall (RDP), a conventional folk medicinal plant, has been employed in Mongolia, the Inner Mongolia region of China, and other areas for the remediation of hepatic disorders.

This study aimed to profile metabolites from five Trichoderma strains and assess their cytotoxic and pharmacological activities, particularly targeting oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). UHPLC-TOF-MS analysis revealed the presence of 25 compounds, including heptelidic acid, viridiol isomers, and sorbicillinol from the different Trichoderma extracts. Pharmacokinetic analysis showed moderate permeability and low interaction with P-glycoprotein, suggesting good drug absorption with minimal interference in cellular uptake.

With high microporosity, good dispersibility, excellent specific surface area and large content surface functional group, hydrochar demonstrates significant advantages and strong affinity towards pollutants in water. Modification method plays a significant role for anion adsorption by modified hydrochar, layered double hydroxide (LDH) modified hydrocarbons (Mg/Al-LDH@HC-HCl) have been synthesized through a one-step hydrothermal approach and activated with hydrochloric acid in this paper. The physical and chemical characteristics of the hydrochar, both before and after modification, are analyzed using BET, SEM-EDS, TEM, XRD, FTIR, and XPS to explore the phosphate adsorption mechanisms.
