Percutaneous drains are a commonly used method of source control for intra-abdominal infections. Increased time to source control has been shown to predict worse outcomes in patients with intra-abdominal infections, but it is unclear whether this relationship is valid when the source control method is percutaneous drainage. We hypothesized that increased time from diagnostic imaging to drain placement would be associated with higher complication rates in a population of patients requiring percutaneous drainage for intra-abdominal, retroperitoneal, or pelvic infectious processes.

Introduction: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is known for its high malignancy, limited clinical treatment options, and poor chemotherapy outcomes. Although some advancements have been made using nanotechnology-based chemotherapy for TNBC treatment, the controlled and on-demand release of chemotherapeutic drugs at the tumor site remains a challenge.
Methods: We manufactured DOX/BaTiO@cRGD-Lip (DBRL) nanoparticles as an ultrasound (US)-controlled release platform targeting the delivery of Doxorubicin (DOX) for TNBC treatment.

Pot size is a critical factor in plant growth experiments, influencing root architecture, nutrient uptake, and overall plant development as well as sensing of stress. In controlled environments, variation in pot size can impact phenotypic and molecular outcomes and may bias experimental results. Here, we investigated how pot size affects the root system architecture and molecular responses of two barley genotypes, the landrace BERE and the modern elite CONCERTO, through assessment of shoot and root traits and by using X-ray computed tomography complemented by transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses.

Background: In 2020, we introduced the Greater Omentum Imaging-Reporting and Data System (GOI-RADS), a novel classification system related to peritoneal lesions. However, its clinical application remained unvalidated.
