Introduction: The intracanal antibacterial effectiveness of a bioceramic medication was compared with calcium hydroxide pastes in different vehicles.
Methods: Extracted mandibular incisors with a single long oval canal were selected and distributed into 5 groups based on anatomically paired microcomputed tomographic analyses. The root canals were prepared up to an instrument size 35/04 and contaminated for 30 days with a mixed bacterial culture from subgingival biofilm added with Enterococcus faecalis.

Bacteria significantly influence human health and disease, with bacterial biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) being crucial in the microbiome-host and microbe-microbe interactions. Despite extensive research into BGCs within the human gut microbiome, their roles in the oral microbiome are less understood. This pilot study utilizes high-throughput shotgun metagenomic sequencing to examine the oral microbiota in different niches, particularly focusing on the association of BGCs with periodontitis.

Background: Few investigations evaluated smoking's impact on the periodontal proteome. Therefore, this study aimed to analyse the influence of tobacco on the overall periodontal proteome and the differential expression of gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) proteins using sequential window acquisition of all theoretical mass spectra (SWATH-MS).
Methods: GCF samples were collected from 40 periodontitis subjects (stages III-IV).
