Four patients engaged on a medium-sized engineering factory were investigated because of hand dermatitis by contact with cooling oils. Two patients showed allergy to formaldehyde. After eliminating all Grotans the two patients with allergy to formaldehyde became free of dermatitis. However no evidence of allergy could be found for the two Grotans which are formaldehyde releasers. In the literature there is a remarkable confusion about the sensitizing capacity of especially Grotan BK. Wet emulsions and finished oil might be important in explaining causative factors in occupational dermatitis of metal workers.

Background: The one health (OH) approach, linking human, animal, and environmental health, relies on effective community engagement (CE), education, stewardship, and effective regional and global partnerships. For real impact, communities should be at the centre of research agenda setting and program implementation. This review aimed at synthesizing empirical evidence on how communities are involved in one health research.

This study aimed to investigate the mechanism by which Shegan Mahuang Decoction(SGMH) and its bitter Chinese herbs(BCHs) regulated the lung-gut axis through the bitter taste receptor 14(TAS2R14)/secretory immunoglobulin A(SIgA)/thymic stromal lymphopoietin(TSLP) to intervene in the epithelial cell barrier of cold asthma rats. Fifty SD rats were randomly divided into the following five groups: normal group, model group, dexamethasone group, SGMH group, and BCHs group. A 10% ovalbumin(OVA) solution was used to sensitize the rats via subcutaneous injection on both sides of the abdomen and groin, combined with 2% OVA atomization and cold(2-4 ℃) stimulation to induce a cold asthma model in rats.

Allergic reactions to foods are primarily driven by allergen-binding immunoglobulin (Ig)E antibodies. IgE-expressing cells can be generated through direct switching from IgM to IgE or a sequential class switching pathway where activated B cells first switch to an intermediary isotype, most frequently IgG1, and then to IgE. It has been proposed that sequential class switch recombination is involved in augmenting the severity of allergic reactions, generating high affinity IgE, differentiation of IgE plasma cells, and in holding the memory of IgE responses.

Background: Both sensitization and mucus plugs are associated with poor clinical outcomes in COPD. However, little is known about the association between hypersensitivity and mucus plugging in patients with COPD.
Methods: We retrospectively enrolled COPD patients who had visited Peking University Third Hospital and received measurement of the specific IgE ( sIgE) from Oct 1, 2018 to Sep 30, 2023.

Background: The excessive application of enrofloxacin (ENR) results in residues contaminating both food and the environment. Consequently, developing robust analytical methods for the selective detection of ENR is crucial. The photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensor has emerged as a highly sensitive analytical technique that has seen rapid development in recent years.
