The antibiotic concentrations were determined in 28 serum samples, 24 samples of lung parenchyma and 21 samples of the skeletal muscle from 28 patients who had undergone pneumonectomy. 5 g mezlocillin had been given i. v. as a bolus injection 30 to 150 minutes before sampling. The concentrations in the lung tissue were higher than the MICs for most bacteria for two hours. If a strain is less sensitive, a dose of more than 5 g is recommended. The concentrations in muscle tissue were also effective antibacterially.

Objectives: Mezlocillin is used in the treatment of neonatal infectious diseases. However, due to the absence of population pharmacokinetic studies in neonates and young infants, dosing regimens differ considerably in clinical practice. Hence, this study aimed to describe the pharmacokinetic characteristics of mezlocillin in neonates and young infants, and propose the optimal dosing regimen based on the population pharmacokinetic model of mezlocillin.

Objective: Pediatric electrolyte supplements injection is mainly used to supplement heat and body fluid, and commonly used in pediatrics. Its compatibility and stability with common clinical drugs such as antibiotics was rarely reported to ensure the children's safety and the rational use of drugs. The aim of the present study was to investigate physical and chemical stability of pediatric electrolyte supplements injection mixed with ten commonly used clinical drugs.

Objective: To research the bacteriostatic effects of Qingkailing Injection Extract (QKLIE) and combination therapy of Qingkailing Injection (QKLI) and antibiotics on bacteria carrying New Delhi metallo-3-lactamase 1 (NDM-1) blaNDM-1 resistance gene, and to determine their minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC).
Methods: The antimicrobial experiments of QKLIE (Radix Isatidis, baicalin, gardenia, honeysuckle) and combination therapy of QKLI and antibiotics were performed by using the agar dilution method and K-B method. The MIC was determined from each extract.
