The patient was a male in his 60s who underwent a retroperitoneoscopic right nephrectomy for a diagnosis of right renal cell carcinoma (cT3aN0M0). During surgery, the patient was positioned in the left lateral recumbent, jackknife position. A blood test of the day after surgery showed an abnormally high CK level of 23,038 U/L.

Background And Aims: This study compares three methods to determine central adiposity (waist circumference -WC - and visceral adipose tissue - VAT - estimated by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry - DXA, and by magnetic resonance imaging - MRI) in their ability to predict increases in cardiometabolic risk (CMR) markers in young individuals. We examined their associations with CMR in 47 men and women aged 25-40.
Methods And Results: VAT mass was assessed using DXA and MRI.

Background: Abdominal wall reconstruction represents an ambitious and demanding challenge. This study aimed to illustrate the versatility of the anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap in its different designs for the reconstruction of complex defects of the abdominal wall.
Methods: Charts of patients with complex abdominal wall defects who underwent a reconstruction with an ALT flap at the University Hospital of Zurich (2018-2020) were reviewed retrospectively.

BACKGROUND The bacterial organism Capnocytophaga canimorsus is an oral commensal of cats and dogs and can cause life-threatening infections like mycotic aneurysm, meningitis, and sepsis. Mycotic aneurysms occur when microbial infections cause arterial wall degeneration. Difficulty in diagnosing Capnocytophaga canimorsus infection can occur due to the bacteria's fastidious nature and laboratory testing limitations, contributing to the infection's high morbidity and mortality.
