Background And Purpose: In the late 1990s, the Nordic countries, with Norway at the top, were among the countries with the highest prostate cancer mortality in the world. We present updated mortality rates from the Nordic countries and discuss possible interpretations of changes in trends.
Material And Methods: Age-standardized rates for prostate-specific mortality in 1985-2022, estimated lifetime risk of death (0-84 years) and annual changes in mortality were obtained from the NORDCAN database.

BACKGROUND Acute liver failure (ALF) remains a critical concern, accounting for about 8% of all liver transplants, with acetaminophen overdose contributing to nearly half of these cases. Besides synthetic toxins, natural toxins such as phallotoxin from Amanita phalloides mushrooms also lead to severe hepatocyte damage. This study investigates the outcomes of liver transplantation (LT) as a life-saving intervention in patients suffering from ALF due to acetaminophen and Amanita phalloides poisoning.

Background: Mixed infection with multiple strains of the same pathogen in a single host can present clinical and analytical challenges. Whole genome sequence (WGS) data can identify signals of multiple strains in samples, though the precision of previous methods can be improved. Here, we present MixInfect2, a new tool to accurately detect mixed samples from Mycobacterium tuberculosis short-read WGS data.

Background: To date, there has been limited exploration, particularly on a national scale, of the prevalence patterns of comorbidities and complications associated with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in Colombia. We aimed to analyze the prevalence patterns of comorbidities and disease-related complications of RA patients enrolled in Colombia's contributory healthcare regime.
Methods: We performed a nationwide observational descriptive cross-sectional study using administrative claims data.
