The work presents the results of studies made with a view to improve the method of testing gamma-globulin preparations for the presence of hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg) by means of radioimmunoassay (RIA). The work shows that this method requires the use of specially selected negative control samples made up of pooled gamma-globulin samples. Standard RIA techniques intended for detecting the presence of HBsAg in human plasma and blood serum is not suitable for the analysis of the preparations of human gamma-globulin.

This research highlights a sustainable approach for the design and synthesis of a magnetic nickel ferrite (NiFeO) catalyst reutilizing industrial waste, specifically iron ore tailing and Raney nickel catalyst processing waste, by simple co-precipitation method. Transforming waste materials into high-performance catalysts, this study aligns with the principles of a circular economy, addressing both environmental waste and pollution. Structural characterization by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and microscopic (FESEM and TEM) revealed the formation of well crystalline nano ferrite with NiFeO nanoparticles with cubic spinel structure.

Objective: To assess CXC chemokine receptor 5 (CXCR5) circulating DNA methylation differences in autoimmune rheumatic diseases and their relation with clinical features.

Methods: Targeted methylation sequencing was performed using peripheral blood from 164 rheumatoid arthritis (RA), 30 systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), 30 ankylosing spondylitis (AS), 30 psoriatic arthritis (PsA), 24 Sjögren's syndrome (SS) patients, and 30 healthy controls (HC).

Results: Significant differences in CXCR5 cg19599951 methylation were found between RA and HC, as well as AS and SLE.

Purposeful movement often requires selection of a particular action from a range of alternatives, but how does the brain represent potential actions so that they can be compared for selection, and how are motor commands generated if movement is initiated before the final goal is identified? According to one hypothesis, the brain averages partially prepared motor plans to generate movement when there is goal uncertainty. This is consistent with the idea that motor decision-making unfolds through competition between internal representations of alternative actions.
