Background: Recent years show an exponential increased interest ("renaissance") in the use of psychedelics for the treatment of mental disorders and broader. Some of these treatments, such as psilocybin for depression, are in the process of formal regulation by regulatory bodies in the US (FDA) and Europe (EMA), and as such on the brink of real-world implementation. In the slipstream of these developments increasing commercial initiatives are taking shape.

We assessed the diagnostic performance of the Narrow-Band Imaging (NBI) International Colorectal Endoscopic Classification (NICE) and the Japan NBI Expert Team classification (JNET) in predicting histological outcomes of advanced colorectal lesions. Additionally, we evaluated the sensitivity and positive predictive value (PPV) of the JNET and NICE classifications individually for high-grade lesions (including HGD adenomas, intramucosal carcinomas, and T1 carcinomas). This was a retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data, involving 211 patients (130 men, mean age 60 years) who underwent colonoscopy with endoscopic resection of advanced colorectal neoplasia (lesions ≥ 10 mm).

Volcano deformation can be detected over timescales from seconds to decades, offering valuable insights for magma dynamics. However, these signals are shaped by the long-term evolution of magmatic systems, a coupling that remains poorly understood. Here we integrate thermal models of crustal-scale magmatism with thermo-mechanical simulations of ground deformation.

Background: Synaptic dysfunction occurs in the early stages of neurodegenerative diseases and leads to the breakdown of connections within neuronal networks. Therefore, biomarkers reflecting this process, such as neurogranin (Ng), might be useful to study disease pathophysiology and aid in diagnostics. Ng is crucial for long-term potentiation and memory consolidation, and plays a central role in synaptic plasticity.

Background: Co-pathology between Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) remains poorly understood but is relevant for trial design. We aimed to compare CSF markers of amyloid, tau, and neurodegeneration (ATN) and α-synuclein between AD, PD, DLB and controls, and investigate the influence of demographical, genetic, and clinical factors on amyloid positivity.
Method: As part of the EPND study, we included 337 individuals with AD, PD, DLB and controls from 6 centers.
