Background: Hypertrophic scar (HS) is acknowledged as a pathological fibro-proliferative disease of the dermis, resulting from excessive connective tissue growth. HS significantly impacts patient quality of life due to both social and functional issues. Despite various treatments, therapeutic effectiveness remains limited, necessitating further exploration of underlying factors and mechanisms.

Background: Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition with a greater prevalence and disease burden in patients who identify as African American and those with a family history of HS, suggesting a strong genetic component to its pathogenesis.
Objective: To evaluate the relationship between plasma inflammatory protein expression, HS disease severity, and genetic ancestry in a diverse cohort of patients with Hidradenitis Suppurativa.
Methods: We performed a case-control study of patients with HS compared to age-, sex-, and ethnicity-matched healthy controls.

Purpose: Assessment of tissue perfusion using near-infrared fluorescence (NIR) with indocyanine green (ICG) is gaining popularity, however reliable and objective interpretation remains a challenge. Therefore, this study aimed to establish reference curves for vital tissue perfusion across target tissues using this imaging modality.
Methods: Data from five prospective study cohorts conducted in three Dutch academic medical centres between December 2018 and June 2023 was included.
