Twelve infants and children with tracheostomies have been monitored for occlusion or accidental extubation in hospital and at home using a thermistor-electronic monitor. The patients ranged from 1 month to 6 years of age and have been monitored for 1 to 16 months. The device sounds an alarm when it fails to sense the warming of air on expiration. It is electrically safe, simple to operate and has been well accepted by parents. The thermistor-monitor has permitted the psychologic and economic advantages of earlier hospital discharge especially for the smaller infants. In two infants, and on three occasions in one, use of the device was life-saving. The device is applicable for use in patients of any age, with endotracheal or tracheostomy tubes.

The prevalence of oromaxillofacial fracture in pediatric patients is comparatively less than in adults, which could be due to several inconclusive factors, such as infrequent exposure to high-contact sports games, rash driving of vehicles and motorbikes, alcohol consumption, and fist fights for personal reasons under the influence of alcohol. More importantly, most of the time, children are under the care of their parents till they reach an age of maturity. One more thing that everyone believes even today is the elasticity nature of their bones as well as their body weight during their growing stage.

Background: In patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and multivessel coronary artery disease, the optimal management strategy for non-culprit lesions is a subject of ongoing debate. There has been an increasing use of physiology-guidance to assess the extent of occlusion in non-culprit lesions, and hence the need for stenting. Fractional flow reserve (FFR) is commonly used as a technique.

Over the last decade, there have been a lot of advances in the area of human posture recognition. Among multiple approaches proposed to solve this problem, those based on deep learning have shown promising results. Taking another step in this direction, this paper analyzes the performance of deep learning-based hybrid architecture for fall detection, In this regard, the fusion of the residual network (ResNet-50) deep features with support vector machine (SVM) at the classification layer has been considered.
