With the rapid expansion of wireless networks, the deployment and long-term maintenance of distributed microwave terminals have become increasingly challenging. To address these issues, we present a bio-inspired microwave system to constitute passive and maintenance-free wireless networks. Drawing inspiration from vertebrate skeletons and skins, we employ stimuli-responsive polymer with tunable stiffness to support and protect sensitive electromagnetic structures, and synthesize self-healable skin-like polymer for system encapsulation.

All-inorganic lead halide perovskites (LHPs) and their use in optoelectronic devices have been widely explored because they are more thermally stable than their hybrid organic‒inorganic counterparts. However, the active perovskite phases of some inorganic LHPs are metastable at room temperature due to the critical structural tolerance factor. For example, black phase CsPbI is easily transformed back to the nonperovskite yellow phase at ambient temperature.

Liposomes are employed for the delivery of molecular cargo in several classes of systems. For instance, the embedding of loaded liposomes in polymeric fibrous scaffolds has enabled the creation of hybrid materials that mimic biological membranes. Liposomes with unmodified surfaces have been predominantly integrated into fibers, which leads to instabilities due to interfacial incompatibility.

The majority of atherothrombotic events (e.g., cerebral or myocardial infarction) often occur as a result of plaque rupture or erosion in the carotid, and thereby it is urgent to assess plaque vulnerability and predict adverse cerebrovascular events.

Zintl compounds have garnered research interest due to their diverse technological applications. Utilizing first-principles calculations, we performed a systematic study of ABX (A = Li, Na, K, Rb, or Cs; B = Si, Ge, Sn, or Pb; and X = P, As, Sb, or Bi) Zintl materials with the 6 KSnSb-type structure. Notably, six ABX Zintl compounds (RbSiBi, CsSiBi, LiGeBi, KGeBi, RbGeBi, and CsGeBi) were found to have topologically nontrivial phases, as demonstrated by the invariant computed using the hybrid functional HSE06.
