Objectives: Neudesin is a newly discovered protein mainly secreted from adipose tissue and the brain. It plays a role as a neurotrophic factor in the brain and a negative regulator of energy expenditure. Neurodevelopmental delay and cognitive dysfunction are common features in cases with congenital hypothyroidism (CH) without treatment.

Background: Oxidative stress is a crucial pathophysiological mechanism in chronic diseases and mortality. While individual oxidative markers have been studied, the comprehensive impact of oxidative balance on mortality risks remains unclear, particularly among cancer survivors. We aimed to investigate the associations of Oxidative Balance Score (OBS) with mortality in both the general population and cancer survivors.

The pathophysiological distinctions between osteoarthritis (OA) and diabetic osteoarthritis (DOA) are critical yet not well delineated. In this study, we employed single-cell RNA sequencing to clarify the unique cellular and molecular mechanisms underpinning the progression of both conditions. We identified a novel subpopulation of chondrocytes in DOA, termed 'Heat Shock' chondrocytes, marked by the expression of distinct molecular markers including HSPA1A, HSPA1B, HSPB1, and HSPA8.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a rare genetic disorder commonly affecting multiple organs such as the lungs, pancreas, liver, kidney, and intestine. Our search focuses on the pathophysiological changes that affect the drugs' absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME). This review aims to identify the ADME data that compares the pharmacokinetics (PK) of different drugs in CF and healthy subjects.

Background: Systemic inflammation, aging, and type 2 diabetes (T2D) lead to varying degrees of cardiovascular dysfunction and impaired aerobic exercise capacity. This study evaluates the impact of inflammation and sex differences on coronary and peripheral vascular function and exercise capacity in older individuals with and without T2D.
Methods: Older individuals (aged≥65 years) underwent biochemical and tissue inflammatory phenotyping, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging, and vascular reactivity testing.
