Background: The evolution of endoscopic surgery has introduced a multitude of instruments, available in both disposable and reusable variants, influencing practices across various surgical specialties. Instrument selection is complex, considering individual preferences and institutional factors such as costs, instrument performance, and factors related to cleaning and sterilization. Notably, environmental sustainability has gained prominence due to the threat of climate change.

Lubrication surfaces reduce the risk of cross-contamination and enhance the long-term stability of medical devices, which holds significance in the realm of antifouling medical materials. However, the complexity of constructing micronano structures to immobilize lubricating fluids and the fluorine content typically found in silane coupling agents restrict their widespread adoption. In this study, we prepared a biomimetic lubricating coating (BLC) through the one-step self-assembly of octadecyltrichlorosilane and oil infusion.

Background: Mapping biopsy (MB) can evaluate superficial ductal spread (SDS) through the histopathological diagnosis of cholangiocarcinoma, enabling the selection of an appropriate surgical procedure. This retrospective study evaluated the efficacy of MB using a novel sheath system in distal cholangiocarcinoma (dCCA) cases.
Methods: A total of 199 cholangiocarcinoma cases underwent preoperative diagnosis.
Objectives: The endoscopic channel can be damaged by instruments during use and cleaning, leading to contamination, infection, and increased repair costs. However, few devices are available to observe the inside of the endoscopic channel. This study employed an ultrafine-diameter scope to examine damage in the endoscopic channel.

To evaluate the efficacy of laparoscopic-assisted Soave procedure of Hirschsprung's Disease (HSCR) in neonates and infants within 3 months of age. Patients with HSCR who were admitted to the Department of Fetal and Neonatal Surgery of Hunan Children's Hospital from June 2012 to July 2020 and underwent laparoscopic-assisted Soave procedure were selected. The clinical manifestations, surgical procedures, postoperative fecal contamination, constipation, enterocolitis, and defecation function were analyzed.
