Background: The importance of parathyroid gland preservation in thyroid surgery has been well recognized; however, the rapid identification of the parathyroid gland, particularly the inferior parathyroid gland (IPG), remains challenging. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of retrograde inferior parathyroid protection technique (RIPPT) based on thymus preservation.
Methods: A total of 236 patients were enrolled in this study between August 2019 and December 2020.

This report describes a rare case of anuric acute kidney injury related to suspected urate nephropathy in a 23-year-old male with chronic phase of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). The patient presented with anuria and limb edema, with a history of imatinib-treated CML. Investigations revealed probable urate crystals causing bilateral hydronephrosis and hydroureters.

Unbalanced redox homeostasis leads to the production of reactive oxygen species and exacerbates inflammatory bowel disease. To investigate the role of the transcription factor Nrf2, a major antioxidative stress sensor, in intestinal epithelial cells (IECs), we generated IEC-specific Nrf2 gene knock-in mice (Nrf2-vRes), which express Nrf2 only in IECs, using the cre/loxp system. Colitis was induced in wild-type (WT) mice, whole-body Nrf2-knockout (Nrf2-KO) mice, and Nrf2-vRes mice by administering dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) for 1 week (acute model) or intermittently for 5 weeks (chronic model).

Tityus serrulatus accident promote vast symptomatology related to toxins of the venom, which leads to a massive release of neurotransmitters, notably dopamine, affecting behavior and neurochemistry. The recommended treatment for envenomation is the antiscorpionic serum (SAEsc) administration. Related to this complexity of the Tityus serrulatus envenomation, this study aimed to assess organism responses to the venom, its impact on behavior, oxidative stress, neurochemistry, and genetic impacts, as well as the efficacy of SAEsc, especially concerning dopamine levels and genetic interactions.
