Five fractions of small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs) were identified in nuclei of human peripheral blood lymphocytes. They have been designated as: H, G', D, C and A (nomenclature according to Weinberg) in order to decreasing electrophoretic mobility. Their synthesis was observed from the first day of treatment with mitogen and was continued with different intensity during four days of culture. In nonstimulated lymphocytes exclusively A and G' fractions were detected but no (14C)-uridine incorporation was observed.

Introduction: Central Post-Stroke Pain (CPSP) is a debilitating condition with a significant prevalence in stroke survivors. Set apart by its refractory to treatment neuropathic pain, it appears to arise from lesions in the spino-thalamo-cortical pathways, particularly in the thalamus. Despite advances in neuroimaging techniques, the pathophysiology of CPSP remains poorly understood, with limited diagnostic criteria and therapeutic approaches.

Androgens, such as 5α-dihydrotestosterone (5α-DHT), regulate numerous functions by binding to nuclear androgen receptors (ARs) and potential unknown membrane receptors. Here, we report that the androgen 5α-DHT activates membrane receptor GPR133 in muscle cells, thereby increasing intracellular cyclic AMP (cAMP) levels and enhancing muscle strength. Further cryoelectron microscopy (cryo-EM) structural analysis of GPR133-Gs in complex with 5α-DHT or its derivative methenolone (MET) reveals the structural basis for androgen recognition.

Intracellular protein aggregation causes proteotoxic stress, underlying highly debilitating neurodegenerative disorders in parallel with decreased proteasome activity. Nevertheless, under such stress conditions, the expression of proteasome subunits is upregulated by Nuclear Factor Erythroid 2-related factor 1 (NRF1), a transcription factor that is encoded by NFE2L1. Activating the NRF1 pathway could accordingly delay the onset of neurodegenerative and other disorders with impaired cell proteostasis.

Background: The contact aspiration (CA) technique is often used to perform endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) for acute ischemic stroke (AIS); however, rescue strategies are necessary if CA fails to achieve recanalization. This study investigates the outcomes of incorporating stent retriever (SR) thrombectomy in the rescue strategy following failed CA.
Methods: EVT patients with failed CA attempts were identified from a large multicenter registry and stratified by rescue technique: CA alone or incorporating SR in the rescue strategy.
