Cervical cancer is the most important cancer type found in women throughout the world. Numerous research studies are being performed to investigate the effectiveness of different strategies for the imaging and treatment of locally advanced cervical cancer, which are showing favorable outcomes. Brachytherapy is characterized by the application of very high radiation doses to target tumor cells with the least exposure to normal tissues.

Background: Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is a chronic lung condition of premature neonates, yet without an established pharmacological treatment. The BPD rabbit model exposed to 95% oxygen has been used in recent years for drug testing. However, the toxicity of the strong hyperoxic hit precludes a longer-term follow-up due to high mortality after the first week of life.

This study reports the diagnosis and treatment of a 26-year-old pregnant woman with severe malnutrition combined with acute pyelonephritis causing sepsis, refractory septic shock and multiple organ failure. A female patient, 26 years old, was admitted to hospital mainly due to "menelipsis for more than 19 weeks, nausea and vomiting for 20 days, fever with fatigue for 3 days". At the end of 19 weeks of intrauterine pregnancy, the patient presented with fever accompanied by urinary tract irritation.

Importance: Endocrine treatments, such as Tamoxifen (TAM) and/or Aromatase inhibitors (AI), are the adjuvant therapy of choice for hormone-receptor positive breast cancer. These agents are associated with menopausal symptoms, adversely affecting drug compliance. Topical estrogen (TE) has been proposed for symptom management, given its' local application and presumed reduced bioavailability, however its oncological safety remains uncertain.

Rectal gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are prevalent in the lower rectum, and the existing literature suggests that transanal interventions are advantageous for anorectal preservation. Herein, we present a case of rectal GIST resection using transanal minimally invasive surgery. A 75-year-old woman reported vaginal discomfort and was subsequently diagnosed with GIST via transanal tumor biopsy.
