Introduction And Objectives: Obesity and atherogenesis are two highly prevalent pathological processes that are closely related to the increase in cardiometabolic diseases. The aim of this study is to assess the relationship between obesity and two parameters that measure the risk of atherogenesis: atherogenic dyslipidaemia (AD) and the lipid triad (TL).
Material And Methods: Descriptive and cross-sectional study in 418,343 Spanish workers in which the possible association between AD and TL with different scales of overweight and obesity such as body mass index (BMI), waist/height index, Clínica Universitaria de Navarra Body Adiposity Estimator (CUN BAE), relative fat mass (RFM), Palafolls and Deuremberg formulas, body surface index (BSI), normalized weight-adjusted index (NWAI) and body roundness index (BRI) was assessed.

(1) Background: Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) require monitoring in some critical clinical situations. The specific tests for DOAC monitoring are not yet available in all labs. The aim of this study was to evaluate if a unique, more widespread heparin-calibrated anti-Xa assay could be suitable to estimate the concentrations of apixaban and rivaroxaban in order to establish an algorithm helping our clinicians in their therapeutic decision for patients treated with DOACs in emergencies.

The current MRI sequences and their advantages, disadvantages and usefullness in the imaging of this complex anatomical region are addressed. Finally, cutting-edge techniques are discussed, including susceptibility weighted MRI, ultrashort echo time MRI, zero echo time MRI and a deep learning-based multiparametric MRI technique named 'synthetic CT,' creating CT-like images without ionizing radiaton.
