Functional constipation is a common disorder of the gastrointestinal tract in children without specific treatment. Ziziphus jujuba has been used in traditional medicine for various diseases such as constipation. A safe and inexpensive treatment with few side effects can be used as an effective alternative to current medications.

There is controversy about the health risks of sugary diets. A recent study reported that chronic consumption of 11% sugar solutions improved glycemic control in lean mice. Based on this finding, we hypothesized that chronic consumption of the same 11% sugar solutions would also improve glycemic control in metabolically deranged mice.

Effective drug utilization evaluation (DUE) is essential for ensuring rational drug use in RTI management. This study aimed to assess prescription patterns and drug utilization in RTI patients at a tertiary care hospital, focusing on the rationality of drug use, polypharmacy, adherence to clinical guidelines, and implications for antimicrobial stewardship.
