Profiles of using the intravenous mononarcosis (sodium hydroxybutyrate, viadryl , ketamin , sombrevin, seduxen) in urgent surgery and traumatology are analyzed. Choice of certain narcotics is motivated for patients with blood loss and shock, intoxication, insufficiency of kidneys, adrenals and liver, cardio-vascular and respiratory disorders. The problem of antinarcotics is considered with reference to the efficiency of specific (bemegride, gutimine , amtizol , cytochrome "C") and nonspecific ( osmodiuretics , infusion media containing thawing water) antinarcotics . A preliminary assessment of the efficiency of different drugs of antinarcotic action is given.

Laboratory mice typically are anesthetized by either inhalation of volatile anesthetics or injection of drugs. Here we compared the acute and postanesthetic effects of combining both methods with standard inhalant monoanesthesia using sevoflurane in mice. After injection of fentanyl-midazolam or S-ketamine as premedication, a standard 50-min anesthesia was conducted by using sevoflurane.

Background: It has been shown that the combination of electroencephalogram (EEG) and auditory evoked potentials (AEP) allows a good separation of consciousness from unconsciousness. In the present study, we sought a combined EEG/AEP indicator that allows both separation of consciousness from unconsciousness and discrimination among different levels of sedation and hypnosis over a wider range of anesthesia.

Methods: Fifteen unpremedicated volunteers received mono-anesthesia with sevoflurane or propofol in a randomized crossover design in two consecutive sessions.

Various methods of total anesthesia for colonoscopy in cancer patients, carried out in a outpatient setting, are compared. Diprivane and dormicum were used as monoanesthesia and in combinations with ketamine and fentanyl. Diprivane anesthesia was the optimal as regards the velocity of recovery of psychophysiological functions.

Near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) was used for noninvasive measurement of oxyhemoglobin (O2Hb) and total hemoglobin (tHb) in cerebral tissue and for evaluating local hemoglobin saturation with oxygen (rSO2) and cytochrome oxidase (Cytaa3) redox status in 68 children (6-14 years) during intravenous induction anesthesia with various anesthetics. Monoanesthesia with ketamine essentially increased the level of tHb and rSO2 and decreased the oxidized Cytaa3 fraction. Combined induction with ketamine and midazolame and propofol induction did not cause notable changes in the values of cerebral oxymetry.

This paper presents preliminary estimation of clinical usefulness of isoflurane for treatment of severe cases of status asthmaticus in children and application of it as monoanesthesia in children with bronchial asthma, operated upon sudden indications. Action and metabolism of halogen ether group inhalatory anaesthetics in human organism was discussed, with special attention being paid to isoflurane and ketamine. In the cases studied (which is also confirmed by numerous clinical tests) potentialization of bronchodilatative effect of isoflurane by intravenous application of ketamine in status asthmaticus was observed.
