77 venographic studies of impalpable testes have been reviewed. All patients subsequently underwent surgical exploration. In 28 studies a pampiniform plexus was identified and in 27 a testis was present at the site of the pampiniform plexus. In 20 studies the testicular vein was blind-ending and in only 1 was testicular tissue present at the site of the blind-ending vein. Testicular tissue was absent in the remaining 19. There were 29 technical failures or an inability to identify the full length of the testicular vein because of patent valves. Testicular venography is most useful in localising the position of an impalpable testis but does not determine in all cases whether testicular tissue is present.

Background: Testicular torsion (TT) is a urological emergency requiring prompt intervention to prevent irreversible damage to the testicle.
Objective: This study aims to assess trends in men's TT referrals, diagnostic evaluation through Doppler sonography (DS) scan, symptoms before surgery, orchidectomy rates, and TT laterality in relation to age and seasons of the year.
Methods: This observational retrospective cohort study included all patients treated for TT at King Abdullah University Hospital between 2009 and 2021.

Accelerating the genetic selection to obtain animals more resilient to climate changes, and with a lower environmental impact, would greatly benefit by a substantial shortening of the generation interval. One way to achieve this goal is to generate male gametes directly from embryos. However, spermatogenesis is a complex biological process that, at present, can be partially reproduced only in the mouse.

Klinefelter Syndrome (KS) is an aneuploid genetic condition in males characterized by at least one additional copy of the X chromosome. Due to fibrotic degeneration of the testis, these patients suffer infertility in the future. The pathogenic mechanism by which this occurs is still not well known.

Introduction: Getah virus (GETV) is a zoonotic virus transmitted via a mosquito-vertebrate cycle. While previous studies have explored the epidemiology and pathogenicity of GETV in various species, its molecular mechanisms remain largely unexplored.
Methods: This study investigated the impact of GETV infection and associated molecular mechanisms on reactive oxygen species (ROS) and autophagy levels in mouse Leydig cells both and .

A role for the plasminogen activator (PA) system has been postulated in mammalian gonads, considering the complex process of morphogenesis these organs undergo during their development. Our results show that mouse Sertoli cells under basal conditions produce both types of PA, tissue-type PA (tPA) and urokinase-type PA (uPA), and hormonal treatments increase the production of both enzymes. The increased enzyme secretion does not correlate with a parallel increase in their mRNAs.
