Background: Neurally mediated syncope (NMS) is the primary cause of temporary and self-limiting loss of consciousness. The tilt table test (TTT) has been consistently employed as a supplementary diagnostic tool for syncope evaluation. However, TTT requires specialized equipment, which is lacking in several emergency room and clinic environments.

Objective: To compare differences in maternal hemodynamics, measured non-invasively by impedance cardiography and mean arterial blood pressure (MAP)-at rest and with high-intensity exercise-between pregnant women with corrected congenital heart disease (CHD) and low-risk (LR) pregnant controls, and to correlate these findings with umbilical artery Doppler in the third trimester, estimated fetal weight (EFW) and birth weight (BW).
Methods: Prospective longitudinal study with hemodynamic exercise studies and fetal ultrasound between 30 and 34 weeks' gestation. Approval was obtained from London South East Research Ethics Committee.

Background: Pharmacokinetics and sedative effects of sublingual dexmedetomidine have not been established in children. The primary aim was to compare peak plasma concentration, time to reach peak plasma concentration and area under the curve with 2 μg/kg sublingual and intranasal dexmedetomidine. The secondary aims were to compare the depth of sedation, parental separation anxiety, mask acceptance, heart rate changes, analgesic requirements and recovery time with 2 μg/kg sublingual and intranasal dexmedetomidine in children.

Objective: To explore the correlation between cardiac iron deposition and left ventricular function indicators, such as left ventricular end-diastolic volume index, left ventricular end-systolic volume index, and left ventricular ejection fraction, and to evaluate the accuracy of predicting patients with cardiac iron deposition by using left ventricular ejection fraction as an index.
Methods: This quantitative cross-sectional study involved one hundred and fifty transfusion-dependent patients with β-thalassemia major who were evaluated by magnetic resonance imaging to obtain * values, left ventricular end-diastolic volume index, left ventricular end-systolic volume index, and left ventricular ejection fraction. The relationship between cardiac * values and left ventricular end-diastolic volume index, left ventricular end-systolic volume index, and left ventricular ejection fraction was analyzed.
